Useful information
To ensure your order is produced with maximum accuracy and in the shortest possible time, please use the official Schneider order form.
When filling out the order form, make sure to include the following information:
- The prescription
- Lens type, based on the complete product name as listed in the catalog
- Required diameter
- Lens options (anti-reflective coatings, tint, photochromic, etc.)
- Quantity
- Any additional services required such as edging, etc.
Important Notes:
- Tinted lenses must be ordered as pairs only. If, for any reason, you wish to order only one tinted lens, you must also send the other lens as a sample to ensure proper color matching between both lenses.
- For tinted lenses with anti-reflective coating, the final color may slightly differ from the original sample due to coating interactions.
- For lenses with prism correction, the final lens power range may vary slightly. Therefore, before ordering high-power with prism lenses, we recommend consulting with our Rx lens department.
Left and right lenses cannot be ordered as a pair in the following cases:
- Different refractive indices (this may cause noticeable reflection differences, color shifts in AR coating or even lens intolerance)
- Different anti-reflective coatings
- Photochromic lenses using two different technologies or colors
- Tinted lenses in two different colors
- Mixing stock lenses with Rx lenses
Lens Production Options:
Prism
The maximum prism value available for each lens type can be found on the corresponding page in the catalog. If the prism in your prescription exceeds the maximum allowable prism for the selected lens, please contact our order department to check the possibility of producing the lens as a out of range order.
Please note that in such cases, production time and pricing for out of range lenses may differ from standard lenses.
Knife Cut
If you select the Knife Cut option, the edge thickness of plus-power (convex) lenses is reduced to a minimum, and accordingly, the center thickness is also decreased.
Please be aware that due to the extremely thin edges, there is a higher risk of chipping or breakage during production or edging. Therefore, this option is recommended only for convex lenses with a power greater than +2.75 D.
Thickness Ballance
When there is a significant difference in power between the right and left lenses, you can choose the thickness ballance option.
In this case, the thinner lens will be adjusted to better match the thickness of the thicker lens, as much as technically possible.
Different Diameter
In custom lenses, it is possible to order different diameters for the right and left lenses.
Simply specify the desired diameter for each eye in the order form.
Please note that the minimum orderable diameter is 50 mm.
If your requested diameter is less than 50 mm, please contact our order department to inquire about the
possibility of placing a custom (master-crafted) lens order.
Kindly note that in such cases, production time and pricing may differ from standard lenses.
Special Base Curve Order
If you require a special base curveāfor example, lenses for wraparound or curved frames-this option can be used.
However, several important points should be considered:
- Increasing the base curve also increases lens thickness
- Using high base curves in progressive lenses is not recommended
- To obtain the accurate base curve, you must use a reliable tool such as a spherometer (base curve meter).
Decentration
In custom lenses, the optical center of the lens can be shifted up to 5 mm in any direction.
This allows for an increase in the effective diameter of the lens without increasing its visible (outer) diameter.
Please note that in most custom lenses-such as progressive lenses-a default decentration of 2.5 mm
toward the nose is automatically applied for each eye, meaning the effective diameter is 5 mm larger than
the actual visible diameter.
Returned Lenses
Defective lenses may be returned within one month from the order date, provided the relevant return form is completed.
In the case of lenses with a warranty, return eligibility is subject to warranty terms and conditions.
Always inspect the lens thoroughly before edging-check power, coating lens type, etc.-as manufacturing defects cannot be accepted after the lens is edged.
Always include the main reason for return (e.g., “the produced lens power differs from the ordered prescription,” or” ordered lens was photo brown, but gray was produced”), the order number, invoice number, and attach the lens warranty card to the return form.
